History

The Club Nautic Llafranc was founded on April 30th, 1963 and was initially based on the Llafranc beach

However, as time went by the need to build a harbour arose in order to be able to improve the club’s infrastructure and to extend the services it offered.

All this became a reality in 1970, the year the club was inaugurated. At the onset, the club organised many motorboat and water ski competitions. But with the advent of tourism and the installation of mooring buoys in the coves, these activities diminished giving place to sailing.

The Santa Rosa Regattas, reserved for Cruiser class and light juvenile sailing craft, are the oldest on the coast. The club has been organising regattas for these vessels since it was founded

Other important activities are the European Championship for the Olympic Finn class, the Catalonia Championship in 1975, the Catalonia Championship for the Olympic Laser and Finn classes in 1988 and 1990, and the Spanish Free Diving Underwater Photography Championship in 2005.
